RUOK Day – Year 12 Leave a Legacy
As our Year 12 cohort looks to complete their VCE studies and gear up for their end-of-year examinations, their minds are beginning to reflect on the fact that their time at Plenty Valley is quickly drawing to an end.
With this in mind, the cohort decided that it wanted to leave some tangible legacy of their love and appreciation for the college.
Part of this involved Year 12’s spending a lunchtime with students from the Primary School and running activities for them. With soccer matches, downball competitions, basketball games, bat tennis tournaments, indoor activities and even a teddy bear picnic with Prep pupils, there were no shortage of fun games and times in the Primary School. It was great to see so many smiles and wonderful memories being created and the college is thankful to all in the Primary School who helped make this happen.
Celebrating Creativity: Heart of the Valley
With the theme of Words, this year’s HeART of the Valley was a truly great evening that showcased the incredible God-given creativity within our college community. Held under a beautifully clear night sky, the event brought together students, staff, families, and friends to celebrate a wide array of artistic and creative expressions.
From enthusiastic musical performances and dramatic pieces to heartfelt poetry, beautiful visual art, and captivating photography, the evening was a feast for the senses. Guests also enjoyed student-created films, woodwork, imaginative Lego builds, immersive IT activities, and delicious food tastings — all reflecting the diverse talents nurtured within our college.
The atmosphere was filled with a deep sense of community. It was heartwarming to see so many come together to support and celebrate our students, whose creativity has been encouraged by our caring staff.
HeART of the Valley was not just an event — it was a testament to the power of creativity, collaboration, and faith. What a wonderful way to close out a busy term!
We give thanks to God for the creativity and inspiration He places in each of us, and we are so proud of all our students who participated. A sincere thank you also goes to:
- Our incredible students, for their hard work, courage, and enthusiasm.
- The staff and teachers, led by the wonderful Lucille Warwick, for their guidance, encouragement, and tireless preparation behind the scenes, some who didn’t leave their room all day in preparation for this event!
- Our families and community members, for your continued support, presence, and prayers.
- And our volunteers and student leaders, who made the event flow smoothly and joyfully.
As a college, we remain committed to nurturing each student’s creative gifts in a way that reflects God’s truth, beauty, and purpose. Thank you again for being part of this special event.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”— 1 Peter 4:10
