Principal's Report

Hello Everybody,

Thank you to all parents and carers who have visited us over the past few weeks for parent-teacher interviews, assembly or the colour fun run. We love having opportunities for our community to be together and build those important school-home connections. If you haven't had a chance to drop in and meet your child's teacher or see what is happening around the school, please consider doing so soon. It would also be great to build up our number of parent helpers. If you have a spare morning or afternoon and would like to contribute to your school, reach out to your child's teacher or to our wellbeing team to find out how you can help. On top of classroom helpers, we always need volunteers in the library and now with our soon to start breakfast club!

If you can help even one morning per week with our breakfast club, please see Georgia in the wellbeing room, or pass your details on to the office so Georgia can contact you.

I am so proud of the work our staff have been doing to improve learning experiences and outcomes for our students. We have implemented many changes to school structures and classroom environments this year, along with embedding our evidence-based approaches to delivering core curriculum subjects. It has been wonderful to see the impact these changes are having across the school. Feedback we have received is that our students are well-settled, classrooms are calm and students are highly engaged in their work. We look forward to showcasing more of this work through publications and open days/nights as the year progresses. Stay tuned for opportunities to participate in learning walks and school tours later in the year!

Huge thanks to our parent's association and parent helpers at last week's colour run. It was a super fun afternoon and we raised more than $3000 for upgrading our outdoor eating area near the canteen.

Congratulations to our year 3 and 5 students who have sat their first two NAPLAN tests yesterday and today. We wish you all the best with the remaining tests tomorrow and next week. Any students who were absent during NAPLAN will have an opportunity to participate in a catch-up session next week.

I have a message from Jenny and Jordan Rundle to share with our wonderful school community following the enormous amount of love and support they have received.

Please note I will be absent the next two days and Mr Liam Flanagan will be Acting Principal until I return next week.

Have a great weekend and week ahead,
