Saint Brigid’s Pilgrimage of Hope – A Call to Our Community

As we journey through 2025, a Jubilee Year, we are reminded of our call to be Pilgrims of Hope, following in the footsteps of Saint Brigid of Kildare. Brigid was a woman of deep faith, compassion, and action—she cared for those in need, built communities of love and support, and inspired hope in those around her.

At St Brigid’s, we are invited to embrace this same spirit in our daily lives. Whether through the kindness we show, the way we support one another, or the way we nurture our children’s growth, each small action is part of our collective pilgrimage of hope. Parents, staff, and students alike contribute to making our school a place of faith, welcome, and care.

On February 1st, we celebrated the Feast of Saint Brigid, a time to reflect on how we can bring light to others, just as she did. May we take this opportunity to strengthen our commitment to hope and love in our school and wider community.

Important Reminders

Drop-Off, Pick-Up & Morning Routine

Supervision begins at 8:30 AM, and we kindly remind families that students arriving before this time are not supervised. In the event of an incident, parents remain responsible for their child’s wellbeing before staff are on duty.

Traffic Safety & Drop-Off Reminder

To ensure the safety of all students and families, please remember that the drop-off area is for quick goodbyes only—no parking or waiting.

For a smooth and safe flow of traffic:

✅ Have children exit on the curb side, not the road side. If needed, consider adjusting car seats to make this safer.

✅ Move to the furthest available drop-off bay to allow space for cars behind you.

✅ Keep moving—staff are there to assist and keep traffic flowing.

❌ Do not double park or stop in the middle of the road, as this creates serious hazards.

Morning Routine Reminder

Our morning routines are now in place, providing students with a calm and structured start to the day. At 8:47 AM, music signals the transition to morning meditation and prayer for Years 1–6. Families are welcome to join this reflective time, but we kindly ask for quiet and respect to support a peaceful atmosphere. If you are not joining your child’s class, please exit the learning street by the time the music finishes and continue any conversations outside. Thank you for helping us create a focused and positive start to the school day.

Digi Tech

In 2024, we trialled a 1:1 device program with our Grade 1/2 classes and saw a significant increase in student engagement, digital literacy, safety, and responsibility. Based on this success, we have launched 2025 with every student from Grade 1 to 6 equipped with their own Chromebook, while our Prep students have access to a class set of iPads.

Alongside this, we continue to expand our initiatives in 3D printing, coding, and robotics, ensuring our students develop essential future-ready skills.

With AI becoming an integral part of daily life, we have also placed a strong emphasis on educating students about how AI works—its capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations. It has been inspiring to see their growing understanding of this technology and its role in their future.

Lulu

In 2025 we are building off the success of the Lulu Ambassador program which proved to be extremely popular with our students last year. Lulu's role will extend into the classroom so she is able to support our students with their learning as well as their social/emotional development. Some of the initiatives being planned are:

Mindfulness mornings with Lulu: Students practice mindfulness techniques with Lulu present to help promote calmness and wellbeing.
Presentation practice: A small group activity where students can practice reading aloud with Lulu as the audience. This is to aid students in developing their public speaking skills.
Lulu's Adventure Trail: A structured sensory walk where students follow specific movement patterns with Lulu. To assist with energy regulation and calmness.

These are just a few of the exciting programs being developed. Watch this space.

MHiPS

We are excited to announce that this year we have a new addition to the St Brigid's Wellbeing program, MHiPS. This stands for Mental Health in Primary Schools. The MHiPS team will be responsible for building the capability of the whole school in mental health and wellbeing (identification, promotion and prevention), providing support to staff to better identify and support students with mental health needs, establishing clear pathways for referral for students requiring assessment and intervention, and monitoring and evaluating student progress. PBL

The PBL team are looking forward to another great year of learning and reinforcing positive behaviours, with exciting new items to redeem from the PBL shop. We are encouraging students to check out what’s on offer and decide what they would like to save up for. PBL tickets are distributed when students display SAFE, RESPONSIBLE and RESPECTFUL behaviour. What a wonderful weekend celebrating 150 Years of St Brigid's Church!!
