It's In the Bag is back for 2025
During term four, GCAG will be running its annual It's In The Bag fundraiser. It’s In The Bag is a fundraiser organised by the non-profit organisation Share the Dignity, which aims to help women who are fleeing domestic violence, experiencing homelessness or are just doing it tough. The aim is to make up bags for women of different age groups (teens, young mothers, adults) that include essential items as well as some luxury items to give them a lift. Often, when a woman flees a domestic violence situation, she has very limited resources and these gifts really make a difference - providing dignity and showing that someone cares.
To maximise the impact, we are splitting the load between the Houses. Here is a list of what items each House is asked to donate:
AHERNE - Period Products
---
Pads
Tampons
Menstrual Cups
Period Undies
FREW - Mums and Bubs
---
Maternity Pads
Breast Pads
Baby Wipes
Dummies
Newborn Nappies
Baby Shampoo
Baby Wash
Nappy Rash Cream
Disposable Nappy Bags
JENKIN
---
Shampoo
Conditioner
Soap / Body Wash
Towels
Wet Wipes
JONES

Gift Vouchers
Small Umbrella

Toothpaste
While we may not be able to eliminate the root causes of domestic violence, we can help to support those escaping it. While you may not see the direct impact of your generous donations, it does make a difference. If you would like to donate, there will be a labelled box outside your Head of House's office where you can place your donations.
Please help us to make a difference for those who need it!
