Bible verse:
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
There are seasons in life that feel full of joy and others that feel heavy and wearisome. There are responsibilities to carry, children to guide, decisions to make and hearts to nurture. Some days we feel capable and energised. Other days we might feel stretched thin or burnt out.
When the Apostle Paul wrote these words in his letter to the Philippians, he was not living in comfort. He was in prison. He had known hardship, uncertainty and need. Yet through it all, he had learned something steady and life-giving: his strength did not come from circumstances, but from Christ.
Philippians 4:13 is not a promise that every day will be easy or that we will never feel overwhelmed. It is a reminder that we are not alone.
As a school, we are entrusted with shaping young hearts and minds. Some days that responsibility can feel challenging. We may wonder if we have enough patience, wisdom, creativity or resilience for what is ahead.
This verse gently reminds us that we are not alone, God’s got our back and that God truly created us to be in relationship with Him. The verse does not say I can do everything because I am strong or I can do everything on my own. It clearly states that we need Christ to give us this strength.
Through a relationship with Christ and through prayer, we truly can do all things through Christ.
Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7
Christ meets us in ordinary places. In early mornings and long afternoons, in difficult conversations and quiet moments of encouragement. He strengthens us with patience when tempers are short. He strengthens us with gentleness when emotions run high. He strengthens us with hope when things feel slow. Our work is not powered by our own reserves alone. We are sustained by a Saviour who knows weakness, who understands weariness and who promises His presence. We are strengthened by a Saviour who came down to Earth to battle life with us, to be in relationship with us and to love us.
Remember, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! You are not alone, you are loved and you are His wonderful creation.
Lord God,
We thank you that you love us so much that you constantly hear our prayers. We thank you that your plan is always good, even when we might be in the wilderness and can’t see a way out. We pray that you continue to guide us in decisions, strengthen us in relationships and fill us with a supernatural peace that will sustain us.
In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
