HOUSE SWIMMING CARNIVAL
Thursday, 12 February, 2026
On Thursday, 12th February, on a beautiful cool day, with great House spirit shown by many students, the annual Red Cliffs Secondary College House Swimming Carnival was held at the Red Cliffs Pool.
The three novelty events; Tug of War, Ping Pong Scramble and The Biggest Bomb, proved to be very popular. Out of the traditional strokes of freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke, freestyle had by far the most number of competitors.
Bindaree students and staff were delighted to be the overall winners! It had been fourteen years since Bindaree had won the House Swimming Carnival.
Results for each House were as follows:
Place | House | Points |
1 | Bindaree | 373 |
2 | Warragai | 335 |
3 | Terragong | 296 |
4 | Allungah | 225 |
With many close competitions held throughout the day, the eventual age group champions were as follows:
| 12 to13 year old Boys | 14 year old Boys | 15 year old Boys | 16 year old Boys | 17 year old Boys | 18 to 20 year old Boys |
| Xavier Galvin | Riley Rayner | Bryce Stokes | Ethan Brown | Lhiam Foster | Logan Mansell |
| 12 to 13 year old Girls | 14 year old Girls | 15 year old Girls | 16 year old Girls | 17 year old Girls | 18 to 20 year old Girls |
| Alexis Baker | Poppy Thannhauser | Alyssa Smith | Lilly Saunders | Rachel Luscombe | Romy Fletcher |
I would like to express a huge thank you to the Red Cliffs Swimming Club and to the staff at Red Cliffs Secondary College for their hard work in making the day run very smoothly indeed.
Mr. Sandy Thomas
