Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
Term One is progressing very well, and it is hard to believe we are already four weeks into the school year. In this short time, we have witnessed some notable successes in student achievement across the school. Additionally, our senior students have participated in study skills workshops delivered by Elevate. These workshops are particularly important as our senior students navigate their final years of secondary education, providing them with essential skills to support their academic journey.
Our House Captains have been elected, and we are proud to announce our 2026 House Leaders:
Allungah: Ziggy Fine and Logan Mansell
Bindaree: Joel Tuifua and Brody Coen
Terragong: Ben Sharp and Lily Saunders
Warragai: Lhiam Foster and Riley Clemence-Loyer
Last week, we held our Swimming Sports Carnival at the Red Cliffs Swimming Pool. It was fantastic to see so many students participating, competing, and encouraging their teammates throughout the day. With perfect conditions for a carnival, the event was a great success. I thank all students and staff who contributed to the organisation and smooth running of the day. Congratulations to Bindaree, who were crowned the winning house for 2026.
On Wednesday, 25 February at 2:10pm, Red Cliffs Secondary College will host our Annual Investiture Ceremony. This is a special occasion to formally recognise students in leadership roles and acknowledge the importance of their contributions to our school community. Our Year 12 students, College Captains, House Captains, School Ambassadors and SRC representatives will be presented with their leadership badges. Parents and families are warmly invited to attend; however, please notify the front office if you plan to come so that seating arrangements can be made.
I would also like to thank all students, parents, guardians and extended family members who attended this week’s Year 7 Welcome BBQ. Your support in building strong connections reflects the culture of resilience, compassion, citizenship and success that we strive to foster at Red Cliffs Secondary College. Events like this are only possible thanks to the support of our community and the dedication of our staff in welcoming new students and families.
Planning for NAPLAN has commenced for our Year 7 and Year 9 students. The assessment window is scheduled for late Term One, and our teachers are working collaboratively to ensure students are well prepared and supported. Further information will be shared closer to the assessment period.
In closing, I would again like to thank all students, parents and community members for your continued support of our school. We look forward to building on the positive momentum as we move into the second half of Term One.
Mr. Brad Vallance
Assistant Principal
