School Council Election parent Nomination Form

Travel for Free

From January 1st, young people aged 5-17 (inclusive) can travel for free on Victorian public transport with a Youth myki. They need to carry it when they travel and must tap on and off. No concession identification needs to be shown when travelling with a Youth myki.

Many students will turn 18 while still in Year 12 and no longer be eligible for Youth myki. These students can still access concession fares by using a Child myki but will need to carry proof of concession identification while travelling (as has previously been the norm for students aged 17 and 18). Eligible forms of concession identification include having the PTV logo on the school’s Student ID card or carrying a Transport Victoria ID (this form can be downloaded from the Transport Victoria website).

PTV is transitioning to Transport Victoria, and so we are requesting you to use the Transport Victoria logo on your Student ID cards next time you print new cards. Attached is the Transport Victoria logo file to use (in both jpeg and AI formats). Each school will be reminded when their current Agreement to use the PTV logo is due to expire and to switch to the Transport Victoria logo instead.

During the transition period, Student ID cards that have either the PTV logo or the Transport Victoria logo will both be accepted as correct concession identification. Please email if you need any further information.

Important Reminder!

Hi all,

A reminder to all students to please be vigilant and safe when coming to and from school with road safety. When crossing the road, students are to use school crossings and traffic lights. We ask students to be aware of their surroundings, especially when wearing headphones and/or on devices. Student safety is the number one priority. We have had a number of concerned phone calls from members of the public in regards to students crossing the road. I encourage parents/carers to please discuss the importance of behaving safely around roads with your children.

Thanks,

Warwick Lamb

Assistant Principal

The importance of attendance

Gallery Image

At Western Heights College, we prioritise regular school attendance. Attending school every day means experiencing what counts – the learning, friendship, fun and opportunities that can shape your child’s future.

We understand that there are times when your child will need to miss school but to ensure minimal disruption to their education, please consider scheduling family holidays or medical/dental appointments outside of school time.

If your child is having difficulty attending school, please reach out to their relevant LCL through Compass about getting support.

For more information about the importance of everyday attendance, see the

Attendance and Missing School link.

Remember, Every Day Counts.

Lost Property

Our lost properties are located in the Admin building and Green building.

Please advise your child to check these locations if they have misplaced any belongings.
