Principal's Report

As we come to the end of what has been an incredibly busy and rewarding term, I want to acknowledge the tremendous effort shown by our students and staff over the past ten weeks. Our classrooms have been full of energy, curiosity, and hard work, and it has been wonderful to see students embracing every learning opportunity that has come their way.

This term has also been rich with extracurricular events and community involvement. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our families for your ongoing participation and support. Whether attending events, volunteering, or simply encouraging your children each day, your partnership makes a significant difference to the life of our school.

Looking ahead to next term, we invite all families to join us for our ANZAC Day Assembly on Friday, 24 April at 8.45 am, the first Friday back. This is a significant occasion for our school community, and we are pleased to have the Police Rangers attending as part of the service. Your presence will help us honour this important day with respect and reflection.

Next week, I am very much looking forward to participating in our annual Mad Hatters Parade. I’ve been busy preparing my Easter hat with the help of my daughters, and I can’t wait to see the creativity and colour our students bring to the event. We will also be hosting our Grandparents' Morning Tea, a special opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the grandparents who play such an important role in supporting our families and community.

Our P&F Easter Raffle is shaping up to be a fantastic finish to the term. Thank you to everyone who has donated items and purchased tickets — your support helps the P&F continue their wonderful work for our school.

Staffing Update for Term 2

We have several staffing changes taking effect from the beginning of Term 2. Jason Psanoudakis, who has been supporting our sport program, will now be working on Fridays and will also take on the Occupational Health and Safety role alongside additional sport classes. Emma Gill will continue her work in Student Services and will now be on site each Wednesday to support this area further.

Bronwyn Fox will be leaving Pioneer Village School at the end of Term 1, having accepted a position closer to home. We thank Bronwyn for her contribution and wish her all the best. Stepping into the Bilby role for the remainder of the year will be Adriana Watters, who has been relief teaching with us recently and brings valuable early childhood experience.

We welcome these changes and look forward to strengthening student outcomes as we move into Term 2.

As we head into the break, I wish all our families a safe, restful, and enjoyable Easter holiday. We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, 21 April. Please note that Monday is a Staff Development Day, and students will have a pupil‑free day.
