Term Highlights

It has been a wonderful start to the year in Grade 1, with students settling into classroom routines smoothly and confidently. They have shown a growing understanding of expectations and are building positive learning habits each day.
This term, students participated in a hockey clinic, where they had a fantastic time developing their coordination skills and learning new techniques. It was great to see their enthusiasm and willingness to give everything a go.
We also celebrated Harmony Day with a fun and meaningful afternoon. Students took part in performances and engaged in classroom discussions to deepen their understanding of what Harmony Day represents. They completed an activity focused on inclusivity, respect, and celebrating diversity, demonstrating thoughtful reflections and kindness towards others.
Students have also enjoyed visiting the school garden with Anna. During these sessions, they worked collaboratively in groups to plant a variety of seeds and learned about the dos and don’ts of caring for the worm farms. These hands-on experiences have supported their understanding of sustainability and responsibility.
In addition, students participated in cooking sessions with Karen, where they made pancakes and dumplings. This was a wonderful opportunity to follow instructions, work as a team, and try new foods.
Our Investigations sessions have begun, and students are thoroughly enjoying exploring the different learning areas. It has been particularly pleasing to see their collaborative skills developing as they work together, share ideas, and engage in purposeful play-based learning.
Students also took part in our Easter Bonnet Parade, proudly showcasing their creative creations. We saw bonnets decorated with real Easter eggs, little chicks, beautiful flowers and many other wonderful ideas. The parade supported a meaningful cause, raising money for a commemorative seat in our school in honour of a past student, Eddie.
Looking ahead, we are very excited for our upcoming excursion to the NGV. This will be a valuable opportunity for students to engage with art in a real-world setting and extend their classroom learning.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the term. We are proud of the positive start the students have made and look forward to all the learning still to come.
Kind regards,
Stef and Jarryd
