Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

May we continue to immerse ourselves in the season of Lent and reflect on what it means to us in our daily lives.

Jesus,

As we continue our Lenten journey, draw us near to you and transform our lives with your loving encounter. We pray that we may know your hope, love, mercy and compassion. Renew us with your living water, and fill our hearts with love that overflows to all people.

Amen.

Concussion – Important information to be aware of for parents and carers

If your child has experienced a concussion outside of the school setting it is important that they rest for a period of 24 to 48 hours and then gradually return to activities after this time. Returning to school can be a graduated approach with the aim of increasing tolerance to a full day, the same situation could occur with sporting activities. It is always important to check with your doctor and seek medical treatment after a child sustains a concussion.

It is important to inform the school if your child has sustained a concussion outside of school; this is to ensure the school can monitor your child’s wellbeing and adapt activities as required.

Prep Information Morning

This coming Monday 23rd March, an information session will be held in the school library from 10.00am-11.00am. The meeting is aimed at prospective new families in 2027, but existing families are most welcome to attend. Topics covered will be specialist programs, mental health and wellbeing initiatives and strategies for helping parents prepare their child for school. If you have any family or friends looking to enroll their child at a school next year, please pass on this information. If you are intending on attending, please inform the school office.

NAPLAN

Over the past 2 weeks our Grade 3 and 5 children have completed NAPLAN tests in Reading, Writing, Language Conventions and Numeracy. We congratulate the children on the way they have approached NAPLAN with a positive attitude. Results will be sent to schools early in Term 2.

Car Park

A reminder that it is extremely important that all parents/carers travel at a safe speed when driving through the car park loop, both in the mornings and after school. I also ask that patience is displayed when children are being assisted into their seats by parents and staff members. We are very fortunate to have a loop system that functions very smoothly and efficiently. The safety of our school community is always our priority, so your understanding on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Principal Conference

Next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I will be attending a principals’ conference. Should you need to speak to someone from leadership please make contact with either Judy, Jodie or Paula.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
