St Joseph, the Model for Fathers

As we celebrate Father’s Day across our school community, we look to St Joseph, Jesus’ father on Earth, as a humble and powerful role model for all fathers. Though St Joseph never speaks in the Scriptures, his life is a testament to quiet reflection and selfless action. 

 

As Pope Francis reminds us, it is often in the quiet, unseen moments that the most significant work is carried out. In the daily, quiet acts of care; such as driving children to sport, cooking dinners, picking them up from school, and offering steady encouragement, our fathers reflect St Joseph’s dedication and give living witness to God’s compassionate love. We extend our deepest gratitude to all the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in our school who inspire our students each day through their integrity, hope, and patient devotion.

Vision and Mission: Parent Survey

This week is your last chance to complete the Parent Feedback Survey regarding our Vision and Mission. 

 

I am grateful for the 40 families who have already taken the time to complete the survey and I ask that you take the time this week to complete the survey so that we can gain as much feedback as possible for this process.

 

Reminder: Year 6 Confirmation: (Thursday 10 September and Tuesday 15 September, 7:00pm) 

A friendly reminder for families of Year 6 students intending to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation: please ensure your enrolment forms are submitted directly to the Parish Office or handed in during one of our Sunday Masses. Active participation in Mass is a vital component of spiritual preparation as we approach this sacred milestone, and we warmly encourage all candidates to join the community at either the 8:30am or 5:30pm on Sundays. It was lovely to see some of our families at Mass yesterday morning. 

 

A final step in the preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a retreat day. This will be held at school during school time on Thursday 10 September 2026. Students will participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation as well as gather together to celebrate the Eucharist at 12:00. Students will complete the day with a Pizza Lunch and more information will be communicated closer to the date. 

Reminder: First Reconciliation Parent Information and Prayer Evening (Wednesday 9 September 6:00pm) 

 

The planning between the school and parish is well underway for the Sacrament First Reconciliation. An essential and necessary part of this planning and preparation is the parent information and prayer evening. This evening, held in the church, is a special time for parents to receive necessary information, (including enrolment forms and booking information) about their child’s Sacrament and how they can support them on their journey.

 

The evening is scheduled for Wednesday 9 September at 6:00pm 

 

If your child has not been Baptised into the Catholic Faith and you wish for them to participate in the Sacraments (Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation), please contact the Parish Office as soon as possible to ensure that your child is able to participate with the rest of their grade.

Celebrating Father Patrick’s 35th Anniversary of Ordination

Last Sunday, our school and Parish community gathered at the 8:30am Parish Mass to honour Father Patrick as he celebrates a remarkable 35 years of ordination to the Priesthood. It was a joy to see so many of our families filling the pews, a true testament to the thriving, connected community we share at St Joseph’s.

 

The students presented Fr Patrick with a special video and handmade cards, each filled with messages of gratitude and well-wishes. One parent captured the beauty of the morning perfectly, sharing that it wasn't them who initiated their family's attendance that day, it was their daughter who convinced them to come. It was a touching reminder of the vital role our children play in guiding our faith journey, especially amidst the busyness of daily life.

 

On one of the cards, a student offered a simple yet profound reminder for us all: “Never forget about Jesus!” It was a beautiful, inspiring moment of wisdom from our youngest community members that resonated with everyone present.
