grow as we are getting closer to the DUCK FEST. This lunchtime activity on Friday 4th September is available to the entire MCC community and provides an opportunity for all to engage in some traditional games and socialise with their peers.

There will also be the popular “Just Dance” available in the hall and a cake/ bake stall with all proceeds from the day going to Catholic Mission. Throughout the quad area there will be a few quieter games available so this will be a truly inclusive activity.

The lunchtime activity follows a wellbeing workshop for year 11 focusing on stress reduction and positive mindset in preparation of their preliminary exams in the following weeks.

There will be lots of fun on the day, and more details and photos will be included in the following newsletter.

Thankyou to students, their families and staff who have donated to our “Book Week” wellbeing initiative. All donations will be provided to charities within our community and continue bringing joy to others. We are collecting all genres and reading levels and the collection box that is located in the library will be available for the next few weeks.

Thursday 10th September we will acknowledge RU OK day with a range of activities to be held in homerooms. R U OK? Day is an annual national day of action in Australia dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Held on the second Thursday of September each year, it encourages people to connect with those struggling with life's challenges by asking a simple question: "Are you OK?".

A meaningful conversation can change a life. Our staff and students bare reminded of the supports that are available at school, within community and online. Whist we acknowledge RU OK Day on the 10th we remind people that the question can be asked…any day.

Next week sees the arrival of spring. A new month, a new season and perhaps an opportunity to set some new goals…always remember that selfcare is an integral part of goal setting and an important part of supporting your wellbeing and general health.
