As we look ahead to Father’s Day next weekend, we give thanks for the fathers, grandfathers and father figures who love, guide and care for us.
In our Catholic faith, we look especially to St Joseph, who showed his love for Jesus through his quiet strength, faithfulness and care. His example reminds us that some of the greatest expressions of love are found in simply being present, serving others and putting our faith into action.
A Prayer for Fathers
Loving God, look with love and kindness upon all fathers.
May their example be like a beacon that guides to safe water as their children grow and are nourished in their care.
May their love and strength be a blessing upon each member of their family as they share special moments together.
May their openness to your love and understanding continue to nurture their faith and provide a rich example to their children.
May they be blessed today with health, happiness and love as they walk life’s journey with their families.
We ask this through Jesus your Son.

A Proud Moment for Our Prep Students
A very special congratulations to our wonderful Prep students, who took part in the Offertory Procession at Mass for the very first time this year on Tuesday.
Our youngest students approached this important responsibility with such respect, reverence, and care. It was beautiful to see them confidently bring forward the gifts of bread and wine as part of our celebration of the Eucharist.
Participating in the Offertory Procession is a meaningful way for our students to become actively involved in the prayer and liturgical life of our school. Our Preps certainly showed that, although they may be our youngest students, they already understand how to participate thoughtfully and respectfully in our school Masses.
Their teachers, along with the rest of our school community, were incredibly proud of them.
Well done, Preps! You did a wonderful job and helped make our Mass a very special celebration
Using His Gifts for Good – Thank You, Mr Lane!
At SJV, our theme “Use Your Gifts for Good” reminds us that God has given each of us unique gifts and talents that we can share in service of others. Our wonderful Performing Arts teacher, Mr. Drew Lane, is a beautiful example of this in action.
We are very fortunate to have Drew share his musical gifts with our school community in so many ways. At our school Masses, his live music brings warmth, joy, and reverence to our celebrations. Through his thoughtful selection of contemporary, age-appropriate music, Drew helps our students to participate meaningfully in the Mass and express their faith through song.
Drew also leads our school choir, giving students the opportunity to discover and develop their own musical gifts. Under his guidance, students grow in confidence, experience the joy of performing together, and contribute something special to our school celebrations and liturgies.
Music has a wonderful way of bringing people together, and Drew’s contribution helps strengthen the sense of faith, joy, and community that is so important at SJV.
Thank you, Drew, for so generously using your gifts for good and for encouraging our students to do the same. We are very blessed to have you as part of our SJV community!
