Children's Book Week 2026
The students were excited to vote on their favourite short-listed picture story book during Book Week. The Children's Book Council of Australia announced the winning titles last week and these were announced during assembly by the 3/4 students. Here are the winning entries below. Congratulations to all the winning Australian authors/illustrators and everyone who took part in Book Week.
Important Library Dates for Term 3
Week 8 (beginning 31st August) - Library Incursion (Thursday 2:30pm)
Week 9 (beginning 7th September) - Book Parade (Thursday 9am in the multi-purpose room)
Library Borrowing:
We have many new titles in our wonderful library for students to enjoy. Please encourage your child/ren to borrow and share their books at home. Year 3 - 6 students are working hard to earn stickers on their loyalty cards and P - 2 students are loving their raffle tickets!
Please remind your child to bring a named library bag to school each week.

Borrowing Guidelines:
- Prep students - 2 picture or non-fiction books
- Yr 1/2 students - 2 picture, non-fiction or short chapter books
- Yr 3/4 students - up to 3 books of choice
- Yr 5/6 students - up to 3 books of choice
Books are exchanged weekly/fortnightly. Lengthy chapter books may be reborrowed.
Book Covering:
Assistance with book covering helps new titles reach the shelves more quickly.
Volunteers are always welcome. Contact will be provided, and book covering can be done from home at a time that suits you.
