Library Bags
Each child needs a library bag for their library lesson with their name marked on their bag. It’s important that all students (K-6) have a library bag as they protect books in their school bag from being damaged and any accidental spills. We love to see homemade bags, store-bought bags, or even plastic bags; anything that protects books is great!
What an absolutely wonderful Book Week celebration we enjoyed this year!
During the week it was lovely to see so many eager faces ready to purchase handfuls of books at the Book Fair in the Library. Each purchase gives us credits we can spend through Scholastic Book Club. It is through the generosity of your purchases that we are able to buy student recommendations from Book Club. Also, a very grateful thank you to the families who kindly donated books to our library.
Throughout the week, students could be seen madly running around the school wondering ‘Where’s Wally?’! He had hidden himself in 8 hard to find locations. Students put their incredible detective skills to work in the hope of finding Wally and receiving a reward! Many students also participated in our annual Book Week Kahoot quiz held in the Library. Many thanks to the older students who sat themselves amongst younger students to ensure everyone was in with a chance! Congratulations to Rory, Amity, Eadie, Audrey and Niklaus who won the Kahoot!
Book Week ended with our annual Book Week Parade and Books with Buddies. Our school was transformed into a colourful world of imagination as students and staff arrived dressed as their favourite book characters. The creativity, effort and enthusiasm that went into the costumes were truly incredible. Everyone looked amazing, and it was wonderful to see so many students proudly sharing the books and characters that inspired their costumes.
A huge thank you to our families for the time, effort and creativity you put into helping
prepare the children’s costumes. We also thank our staff for embracing the celebrations and
helping make the day so memorable.
Book Week is about much more than dressing up. It is an opportunity to celebrate the joy
of reading, encourage imagination and recognise the wonderful places that books can take
us. Events like these help inspire a lifelong love of stories and remind us that reading can
open the door to endless adventures.
