Welcoming Our Neighbors: Learning Walks and Talks at St Philomena's

This week, our staff had the wonderful opportunity to connect and collaborate with colleagues from across our diocese through "Learning Walks and Talks."

St Philomena's were fortunate to host the staff from St Joseph's Primary School, Warialda. During their visit, we shared our daily lesson structures, discussed strategies for fostering positive learning environments, and demonstrated how we utilize Data Walls to track and support student growth.

We extend a warm thank you to our Leader of Pedagogy, Mrs. Schweitzer, and Principal, Mr. Stewart, for taking the time to guide the visit and share our school's approach to learning.

It was a privilege to showcase our classrooms and learn alongside our visiting colleagues. We are inspired by this collaborative spirit and look forward to continuing our strong partnership with St Joseph's!

Young Archies 2026 BAMM

Young Archie Competition

Budding artists between the ages of 5 and 18 are invited to submit a portrait for the Young Archie competition, for the Archibald Prize 2026 regional tour to BAAM (Bank Art Museum Moree). The portrait should be of a person who is special to you - someone who is known to you and plays a significant role in your life.

There are four age categories:

● 5–8-year-olds

● 9–12-year-olds

● 13–15-year-olds

● 16–18-year-olds

Key dates

● Competition opens Tuesday 6 October 2026.

● Entries must be received by Friday 30 October 2026
