Book Week 2026

Wow! What a wonderful week we have had this week celebrating Book Week!

From seeing students scurrying around the school searching for book characters in the scavenger hunt, to heated debates in the library for the Guess Who competition - there has been a lot happening at St Louis.

Our Book Week Parade was once again an outstanding school event supported by our wonderful St Louis community.  So many students were sharing their favourite books and book characters and the enthusiasm was infectious. The rain held off just long enough for students and their buddies to parade and much fun was had. A big thank you to our amazing staff who also joined in the dressing up, with everything from Little Miss and Mr Men, to 101 Dalmations, to Charlotte's Web, Snow White, the Magic Faraway Tree and many more. What a great team!

Students were challenged with matching staff members to their favourite books throughout the week in the Library.  Answers revealed below and winners announced in the week ahead. How many did you match?

Students also enjoyed reading or hearing some of the nominated stories in their classrooms this week and in their library session. More stories were shared during a Book Picnic where our wonderful Year 6 FIRE Carriers read stories to other students. Thank you to those students and Mrs Traynor for their efforts.

Many students were also involved in online sessions with authors and illustrators talking about the craft of writing stories and creating beautiful books for us to enjoy.

Last chance for the Emoji Book Title puzzler as shown below.  Entries close this Monday and winners will be announced in next week's newsletter. Can you work out with your child/ren which books are represented by these emoji clues?

Send an email to Angela Healy at ahealy@stlouisaspendale.com with your answers, including your child's name and class.  Correct responses will go in the draw for a prize.
