This weekend, many of our Year 3 students will be celebrating their Reconciliation Commitment Mass. This mass marks the beginning of their preparation to receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Reconciliation (also known as Confession or Penance) is a Sacrament of Healing, it's the meeting point in which God forgives you all your sins (wrong choices) and reconciles you with Himself and with the community.
Co-incidently, this Sunday's gospel reminds us of the importance of following Jesus's way.
We hear that following Jesus means choosing love over being selfish. When we choose love and kindness over being selfish, Jesus fills our heart with real joy and peace.
Reconciliation is all about saying sorry, fixing mistakes, and choosing to follow Jesus' good way every single day. It’s about loving God and others, making good choices, and trying our best to follow Jesus in everything we do.
Even if we sometimes make mistakes, Jesus wants us to keep trying and to stay close to Him. He loves everyone and his door is always open to us. We just need to knock and the door will be opened!
