Welcome to Term 2!

We are thrilled to be returning to school with another term full of creativity, curiosity and engaging learning experiences. We even have a whole new set of furniture in each class, with each student having their own individual desk, which allows for more tailored layouts in each classroom.

We will continue to build upon the classroom routines and structures developed throughout Term One, with high standards, as always, being the norm.

Students will engage in a rich, interconnected learning program designed to build both academic skills and personal growth. With a strong focus on critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, students will explore meaningful concepts, apply their learning to real-world contexts, and develop confidence in expressing their ideas. This term also places emphasis on emotional wellbeing and responsible digital behaviours, ensuring students feel supported, connected, and empowered in all aspects of their learning. With continued encouragement at home, students are set to make deep and lasting progress throughout the term.

With the text Leo & Ralph, we will be building upon the natural imagination of students with our narrative unit in English, followed by creating factual recounts through the text Uncle Xbox. Last term, students were heavily engaged in Kensuke’s Kingdom and we foresee continued success with our new texts. Mathematics will again be explicitly taught, bringing a growing range of skills from across the curriculum to develop well-rounded mathematicians. We will be investigating chemical science in Inquiry, developing practical understandings of the world around us and the functions of chemicals within it, and building strong connections with others and ourselves in Wellbeing.

Later in the term, students will be able to showcase the work they are most proud of during Student Led Conferences, which is always something they look forward to, as they take the role of presenter for their family members.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful Term 2 ahead full of learning, laughter and memorable moments. Let’s make it a great one!
