Secondary

Dear Families
Term 4 always brings a sense of excitement. With warmer weather and many significant milestones ahead, the College grounds are filled with renewed energy and anticipation. Our Year 12 students prepare to conclude their journey at John XXIII College, and our future Year 7 students experience a glimpse of secondary life through their Orientation Day. Term 4 is a time of celebration, reflection, and new beginnings.
We hope all families enjoyed a safe and restful break, and that all students return refreshed and ready for the opportunities the term will bring.
The holiday period also marked the commencement of trial WACE examinations for our Year 12 students as they enter the final weeks of their journey at the College. We look forward to sharing the special week ahead as they prepare for their Day of Invitation and Valete ceremonies.
School Photos and Photo Pack Distribution
Photo order packs have arrived and will be ready for distribution to students via Homeroom next week. Families who placed their order online will receive their completed photo package. Students who have not yet placed an order will receive a Second Chance Order flyer, allowing families to order photos directly through the Photo Hendriks website with a unique child access key. Year 12 students will receive their photos in their Valete packs. Family and sibling photo packs will be given to the eldest child in each family. If you have any queries regarding your orders, please call Photo Hendriks Customer Service Team on 9361 3206 or email customerservice@photohendriks.com.au.
Summer Uniform
The new term will see students transition into their summer academic uniform. As the weather can still be cool at the beginning of the term, students will have the option of wearing the correct summer or winter uniform until Monday, 26 October (Term 4, Week 3). The Uniform Code can be found, here and staff are guided by the Positive Behaviour Framework to address instances when students do not wear the uniform correctly. The uniform shop is open on weekdays 7:45am – 12:00pm, with online ordering available via the College website.

Lights, camera… wait, is that light flickering? Step through the doorway and join us for Media Night, where our theatre foyer becomes somewhere you might not have meant to end up. Fortunately, the only thing waiting for you on the other side is an evening of remarkable student filmmaking.
This year's showcase features a variety of senior student films spanning genres and art cinema. Alongside them, work from our Years 8 to 10 students: slick advertisements, broadcast graphics, and virtual production sequences that put performers in places they've never actually been.
Media Night follows directly on from the Art Exhibition Opening, so make an evening of it – wander the exhibition, then find your way through to us.
- Cinema snacks to tickle your taste buds – and a little something extra for every guest to take home
- A valuable opportunity for aspiring media students to explore the world of Media as a course
- All films rated PG – everyone's welcome
Don't miss your chance to be part of an unforgettable night celebrating creativity, storytelling, and cinematic excellence. Just don't wander off down any corridors on your way out.

Bronte and Isla also competed in the recent Netball WA State Cup, alongside other talented athletes selected from across Western Australia. This was a fantastic development opportunity and a wonderful recognition of their hard work and commitment to netball.
Congratulations to Year 10 students Alex, Julien, Tommy and Tom, players at Subiaco AFC, and their coach Alex (Class 2023) on a remarkable treble-winning U16s season.

Congratulations to Vinnie, who recently competed with the Cockburn Cougars at the Under 14 Club National Championships at Willetton Stadium.
The team qualified for the Championship Division and finished an impressive 11th out of 24 teams from across Australia.
