From the Principal

A very warm welcome to Term 4 and I hope everyone has had the opportunity to spend some precious time with family and friends over the break.
As communicated to parents earlier in the week, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Roseanne Madden as the College’s next Vice Principal, commencing at the beginning of Term 1, 2027.
Following a comprehensive national and international search, Roseanne emerged as the outstanding candidate from an exceptionally strong field of educational leaders from overseas, interstate and across Western Australia.
Throughout the rigorous selection process, Roseanne consistently demonstrated the depth of experience, strategic capability and values-based leadership that will be instrumental in supporting the continued development of our College. With over 25 years of experience in Catholic, Lutheran and Anglican education across Western and South Australia, Roseanne is currently serving as Interim Principal of St Mark’s Anglican Community School during 2026.
I take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge the selection panel, Janeen Murphy, Deputy Principal Faith and Mission, John Cumming, Head of Finance and Corporate Services, Liam Fields, HR Manager and Jenny Ethell, from Executive search firm, Future Leadership, for the considerable time, wisdom and discernment they invested throughout this important appointment process.
We are looking forward to warmly welcoming Roseanne to our College community in 2027.
During Term 4, Head of Secondary responsibilities will be assumed predominantly by Mr Liam Smith, Head of Senior Years (Years 10 to 12) and Mrs Donna Kolka, Head of Middle Years (Years 7 to 9) with the support of the College Executive.
During the holidays, the College hosted a visit from Principals and senior leaders from schools across Australia as part of the Association Heads of Independent Schools Australia (AHISA) 2026 Leading, Learning and Caring Conference. Guests heard about leadership strategies designed to future-proof our College and were particularly interested in the College’s Highly Accomplished Lead Teacher Program before touring the College grounds.
Also during the break, and for most of this week, our Year 12 students have been heavily involved in their Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) mock examinations. The mock examinations are our Year 12 students’ last internally assessable tasks and final formal feedback opportunity, before sitting their written WACE examinations commencing on 28 October.
I extend my thanks to our dedicated Year 12 teaching staff for their timely marking of the scripts and providing detailed and valuable feedback to our graduating students. Our thoughts and prayers are with our Year 12 students during this time of transition, and we look forward to acknowledging their significant contributions to our College during next week’s graduation festivities.
