Welcome back to Term 4! I hope you all had a restful and rejuvenating school holiday break with family and friends. It is wonderful to see our school filled once again with the vibrant energy, smiles and enthusiasm of our students as we begin the final chapter of the school year. I had a great trip to Apollo Bay and Point Lonsdale which included lots of beach walks and long bike rides.
Term 4 is always a fast-paced and joyous time at St John’s, packed with special events, rich learning opportunities and moments of celebration. We have so much to look forward to over the coming weeks as we bring our learning journeys together.
The St John’s Art Show: One of our most anticipated events of the year is fast approaching on 22 October! Our students and staff have been working tirelessly to prepare a spectacular display of creativity, color and imagination. The Art Show will feature artwork from every year level, showcasing the incredible talent within our school. It is an event you certainly won't want to miss.
St John's Christmas Concert: Please note the change of Date for the Christmas Concert which will now be held on Thursday, 10 December at 6pm - 7.30pm
End-of-Year Celebrations & Graduations: As we move deeper into the term, we will begin preparing to celebrate the milestones and growth of all our students, including special farewell events and graduation traditions for our Year 6 leaders as they prepare for their transition to secondary school.
Community Gatherings & Liturgies: We look forward to coming together as a faith community for special liturgies, assemblies and social events that celebrate our shared spirit and strong connection, including the Christmas Concert, End of Year Mass and Whole School BBQ at Halliday Park.

On Saturday, we had the joy of celebrating the wedding of Miss Maio! It was a wonderful occasion, and made even more special by the many school families who were able to attend and share in the celebrations with her. We wish Miss Maio and her new husband, Enrique, a lifetime of love and happiness.
As we dive into this busy term, a gentle reminder to ensure all students have their sun-smart hats and water bottles each day, as our sun protection policy applies throughout Term 4.
What does every runner lose in a race?
Their breath!
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing partnership, support and dedication to our St John's school community. Let’s work together to make this final term of the year inspiring, productive and memorable for every student at St John's.
Warm regards,
Verona Gridley
