At POPS, our students engage in weekly science lessons using an inquiry-based approach with Mrs Smith. Students can explore and investigate and are supported to think and work scientifically by gathering and analysing their evidence and communicating their ideas with others.
To celebrate all things science and technology, we invite everyone to come along and engage in the evening's theme, 'A Spotlight on STEM.'
At POPS, students alternate between weekly well-being classes featuring The Resilience Project (TRP) and Resilience, Rights, and Respectful Relationships (RRRR). TRP emphasises gratitude, empathy, resilience, and emotional intelligence, while RRRR addresses personal strengths, coping skills, problem-solving, stress management, help-seeking, identity, and positive gender relationships. This approach cultivates social and emotional skills, fostering healthy relationships, resilience, and confidence.
All POPS families can attend The Resilience Project Digital Wellbeing for Families Webinar on Wednesday, May 15, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This 60-minute presentation allows parents/carers to reflect on their family’s digital well-being and gain practical tips for fostering healthier screen time habits and stronger connections at home. If you would like to register,

The recent announcement of the School Saving Bonus in the Victorian Budget 2024/25 offers a one-time support of $400 per eligible student for school uniforms and activities in 2025. This support will be available to parents and carers of children enrolled in Victorian government schools. The bonus will be credited to school accounts to cover these expenses, with more details to come in Term 3, 2024, before its implementation in 2025.
We are seeking feedback on school photos taken by The School Photographer. Please share your thoughts on the ordering process, photo quality, and available packages via the Google form below.
This week, a Manningham Council traffic inspector noted illegal double parking on Bowmore Avenue and unsafe practices of drivers asking children to walk onto the road. We have requested to engage in discussions with a traffic engineer to review traffic flow and signage. In the meantime we suggest parents/cares consider the following sensible options to ease congestion which include parking further away, walking and arriving slightly later.
Monday's stall was a joyous occasion, with families carefully selecting items. Thanks to Mrs Berardini and all the helpers. We are looking forward to tomorrow's breakfast with special guests at 7:30 am in the Arts Centre. From 8:30 am to 9:00 am, guests can visit classrooms. Thanks to Mrs Berardini and the dads for organising. Wishing all mothers, aunties, grandmothers and caregivers a happy day on Sunday!
Take care,
Ms Garrity
