Wellbeing Corner - Staying Healthy This Term
As we head into Term 3, the colder weather often brings coughs, colds and other winter bugs. By working together, we can help keep our school community healthy and happy so everyone can enjoy learning.
Here are a few simple ways to stay well this term:
- Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, especially before eating and after using the bathroom.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue, then throw the tissue away and wash your hands.
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
- Eat a healthy lunch and snacks to give your body the energy it needs to learn and play.
- Get enough sleep each night so your body can rest, recover and be ready for a new day of learning.
- Stay active by playing outside, exercising or enjoying family walks whenever you can.
When should my child stay home?
We know children love coming to school and we love having them here! However, if your
child is feeling unwell, has a fever, is vomiting, has diarrhoea, or is experiencing cold or flu symptoms that make it difficult for them to participate comfortably in the school day, we kindly ask that they stay home to rest and recover.
Keeping unwell children at home helps protect classmates, staff and families, and gives your child the best opportunity to recover fully before returning to school.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a healthy, caring and safe learning environment for everyone. We wish all our families a happy, healthy and successful Term 3!
