Winter Sport Round 2
A big thank you to our Year 5 and 6 students who represented our school in our recent Winter Sports Program against Colac West and St Brendan’s. We were especially proud of the way our students embraced the spirit of the day by happily mixing teams with the students from the other school. Rather than focusing on "us versus them," our students showed teamwork, inclusiveness, and respect, making sure everyone had the opportunity to play, contribute, and enjoy the experience. Well done!
Auskick and Superkick
Last Wednesday, AFL House started the Auskick and Superkick program at Sacred Heart. This program runs from 3:30 – 4:30pm. This program is available for all students. More information can be found on our community page in the newsletter. Please note that the school provides the venue only and is not responsible for the organisation, supervision, or management of the program. For any enquiries or concerns, please contact the Auskick/Superkick organisers directly. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Colac Division Year 4 Football Gala Day
This Friday, 31st July, is the annual Year 3/4 Football Gala Day, which will be held at the Colac Central Reserve. Participation in this event is optional and is open to students who would like to take part. As places are limited, Year 4 students will be given priority. If there are vacancies after Year 4 students have been allocated, Year 3 students will be invited to fill the remaining positions. We look forward to a fun day of football and great sportsmanship for all participants. The event will start at 10:00am (the bus will leave Sacred Heart at 9:30am) and finish at 1:20pm. Participating students may still order a lunch order.
Footballers will need to wear their sports uniform and bring along their football gear e.g. football jumper, boots etc. If students do not have a jumper or boots, runners and an old t-shirt/jumper are sufficient. We do need parents to assist with coaching on the day, so please indicate on PAM if you can help out.
(Please complete Permission details on PAM for your child)
Colac Division Badminton Tournament
Currently in our Year 5 and 6 PE lessons, the students have been participating in a badminton unit. As part of these sessions, students will have the opportunity to develop their skills and demonstrate their ability. The unit will also be used to assist with the selection of our school badminton team, which will represent our school at the upcoming Colac Division Badminton Tournament on Friday 7th August at the Colac Showgrounds Commerce Shed. More information will be sent home via PAM to the students selected in the Sacred Heart badminton team.
