Principal's News

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe.

The care, safety and well-being of children and young people

It is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Good afternoon, families,

We now have only one month left of Winter! If every day in August turns out to be as beautiful as today, it is going to be a fantastic month ahead.

Faith and Celebrations

It has been a wonderful week of spiritual celebration across our year levels. The Year 4 students gathered for their Class Mass, while our Year 6 students celebrated their Journey Mass. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Father Michael, Mrs Douglas, and all of our dedicated teachers for supporting our students through these meaningful milestones.

Year 6 students are celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday 6 August. Please keep these students in your prayers.

The SAC plays a vital role in our school's governance. If you ever have any feedback, thoughts, advice, or suggestions regarding our school community, please feel free to approach any of our members so they can bring your ideas to the table for discussion.

100 Days of Prep!

On Thursday, our prep students celebrated a massive milestone: 100 days at school! For one day only, all our usual Preps disappeared and were replaced by a wonderful group of 100-year-old "Prep-looking" students. It was an incredibly fun celebration for both the children and the staff. A big thank you to our prep teachers for putting together such a memorable day.

🔍 Upcoming School Review

This August, our school will undergo its formal School Review, an important evaluative process that occurs every four years.

An independent assessor has been allocated to our school to interview a small cross-section of the community and evaluate the evidence gathered for our self-assessment across five key spheres:

  1. Religious Education
  2. Leadership & Management
  3. Learning and Teaching
  4. Student Engagement
  5. School Community

Our allocated assessor is Craig Tanner. The timeline for his upcoming visits is as follows:

  • Monday, 10 August: Initial meeting with myself.
  • Monday, 17 August & Tuesday, 18 August: Craig will return to meet with the school leadership team, teachers, learning support officers, students from Years 3–6, parents, and Father Michael.
  • October: A final report will be compiled and shared with the school community.

I am very much looking forward to this process and feel incredibly confident that we will have a great deal of success to celebrate!
