Head of Primary Years' Report

Dear parents, carers and our community of Hazel Glen College,

Welcome back to the final term of the year. Thank you to Ms O'Halloran and Ms Reid, who led the Primary Years in my absence at the end of last term. I had a trip to Europe where I experienced the history and awe of beautiful towns, landscapes and countries. I brushed up on the languages of Spanish, French and Italian, and there is nothing like being able to put this into practice to situations and be helped along by the locals so kindly. I was sad to miss House Performing Arts but have been able to hear from the students what a great day it was and how all of the performances went. Congratulations to Goodes House on their win and well done to all the other House teams on their effort.

A reminder that if you are entering the College grounds during school hours, to please use either the front Primary Administration entrance or for assemblies, the closest entrance to the venue from the main road. The back gate on Cookes Road can be used for the gym and the Performing Arts Centre entrance on Eminence Boulevard for year level assemblies. This is due to Child Safety and our visitors policy to ensure that during school hours, visitors are accounted for, particularly whilst students may be in the yard for their lunch break times.

World Teachers Day is coming up on Friday the 30th of October, and we encourage families to reach out to their child/rens teacher/s to acknowledge them for this day. We always welcome positive feedback, and this is a perfect opportunity to reach out with a message or email. We look forward to hearing your messages.

Grandparents/special people afternoon will be held on Monday 26th of October, with visitors welcome to attend - more details will be on Compass. This is a new event introduced last year, and our grandparents who attended were very happy to have the opportunity to visit their grandchildren at school and take part in fun and engaging activities with them.

Sincerely,

Andrea Lynch
