Thank you to everyone for supporting our book fair. It was a great success and amazing to see so many of our students excited and passionate about their reading. As a result of our sales, the school has earned over $850.00 to spend on books and other items for our library and STEM room. We will be purchasing new novels and class sets for our students to read in class. Thank you again for all of your support.

Learning to read is one of the most foundational skills taught in primary school, but learning to love reading is what truly unlocks a child’s lifelong potential.
When children read for pleasure, they do far more than decode words on a page. Research consistently shows that reading for enjoyment directly improves vocabulary, enhances empathy, sharpens critical thinking, and boosts academic success across all subjects. Beyond the educational benefits, a good book offers students a quiet space for imagination, creativity, and stress relief in a busy world.
How We Bring Reading to Life at Our School
Building a reading culture requires intentionality both inside and outside the classroom. Everyday literacy lessons focus on developing technical reading skills, comprehension strategies, and quiet sustained reading habits. However, true enthusiasm happens when reading becomes a celebrated, shared community experience.
To spark this excitement, our school calendar focuses on dedicated literacy initiatives throughout the year:

How You Can Help at Home
Parents play an equally vital role in shaping a child's reading habits. Simply spending 10 to 15 minutes a day reading with your child, discussing what they are currently reading, or letting them see you read your own books makes a lasting impression.
Thank you for supporting our literacy programs, purchasing books at our fair, and helping your children dress up for Book Day. Together, we are building a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning and discovery.
