Acting Principal's Report

Hello DPW Community,
Welcome to Term 3!
It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through the year. The first two terms have flown by, and it has been wonderful to see the growth and achievements of our students so far. We are looking forward to another exciting term filled with engaging learning opportunities, special events and continued success for all students. Thank you for your ongoing support.
A few date reminders:
Uniform
I’d like to take this opportunity to advise DPW families that we will be introducing new school uniform shirts and jackets in 2027. The new uniform items will only be compulsory for 2027 Foundation students.
In the meantime, our uniform supplier Academy Uniforms on Robinsons Road, is holding a one-off sale for DPW families who may require uniform for their child/ren who have outgrown their current uniform. Please see the flyer below for the amazing discounts!
All DPW students are expected to be wearing the school uniform every day.
The DPW school bag is also included in this sale. I do encourage families to purchase this bag as it comes with a lifetime warranty – this means that if the bag breaks at anytime during primary school, it will be repaired/replaced at no cost to you! The DPW school bags are made to have plenty of room for take-home readers, lunches, jackets and a water bottle.

Contributions
I would like to acknowledge and thank all our families who have paid their voluntary contribution. This payment really supports us with providing pencils, books, other equipment, and access to online programs such as Reading Eggs and Mathletics.
We are still open for payment, should you wish to contribute and haven’t yet done so. Please ask the office to send an envelope home with your child to assist with payment, or pop into the office.
Volunteers
We will be requiring support from our school community over the next two terms. We anticipate having to pack-up and move items from our library for new carpet to be laid and needing volunteers to support with excursions (any year level). To volunteer, you will need a Working with Children Check and if you take part in any activities during school hours, you will also have to complete the school’s Volunteer Induction session.
We are keen to create a list of volunteer availability to help us to know when to plan certain activities. If you have already completed the volunteer induction session, please call or pop into the office to let us know which days and times you should be available.
The next Volunteer Induction will be held on Friday the 14th of August starting at 2:15pm. Please contact the school office to add your details to the volunteer expression of interest form if you are wanting to participate.
We truly appreciate any time and support our families give to the school. If you’re keen to help out, this is a wonderful way to get involved and make a positive impact.
Kindest Regards,

Deanne Scott
