Upper Secondary (Years 9-10)
Students in 9/10 have been working hard with their preparation for the Winter Fete. Incorporating literacy skills with our advertisements for our stalls. Numeracy we have been practicing handling money for when we are buying and selling items ourselves.
Senior Secondary (VPC/ASDAN)
Senior secondary @Victoria University
Students from Senior Secondary attend Victoria University on Fridays to participate in Hospitality and Cookery courses. Both courses teach our students skills they would need if they wanted to work in the hospitality industry.
In cookery they learn a range of cutting styles and cooking techniques and cook in an industrial kitchen just like working in a café or restaurant. They get to cook (and eat) a variety of different foods which they make from fresh ingredients.
In Hospitality they learn how to make different types of drinks, ranging from different coffees to mocktails. They also learn about different areas of customer service within the hospitality industry.
This term has been very busy. We have been developing our employability skills and learning how to navigate the world around us. All ASDAN students have been enjoying exploring the wider community each week. We have been working on reading community signs and problem solving.
Students have been visiting a variety of different city locations and local shopping centres, learning how to use technology, facilities and services. Well done everyone!
