We All Have A Story To Tell

This term we have a whole school focus on Matthew's scripture, Matthew 4: 18-22: Jesus Calls the First Disciples. 

What does this mean for us?

Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee when he saw some fishermen hard at work. He invited Peter, Andrew, James and John to leave their nets and follow him. Jesus told them that instead of catching fish, they would help bring people closer to God by sharing His love, kindness and Good News.

The fishermen trusted Jesus straight away. They left their work and chose to follow Him because they believed He had an important purpose for their lives.

This story reminds us that Jesus calls each one of us too. We don't have to be famous or perfect to follow Him. We can follow Jesus every day by being kind, helping others, making good choices and sharing His love with the people around us. We all have a story to tell about how we can live like Jesus and make a positive difference in the world.

We invite you to engage in conversations with your children about what it means to respond to Jesus' call, how we can recognise God's presence in our own lives and discuss how their words and actions can share His love with others.

Preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation

Many of our Year 6 students are currently preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. It was wonderful to see so many parents at the Information and Parent Workshop last Wednesday. The second of these workshops will be held tonight at 7pm in the St Agatha's School Hall. It is a parish requirement that parents attend ONE of these sessions in order for their child to participate in the Sacrament.

We look forward to continuing to support our Year 6s throughout this very important time in their faith journey.

Important dates for the Confirmation Sacramental Program:

Information and Parent Workshops: 

Wednesday 15th July OR Wednesday 22nd July at 7pm in the St Agatha's school hall

Commitment Mass: 

Any of the St Agatha's Parish Masses on the weekend of 25th and 26th July

Parent and Child Workshops: 

Wednesday 12th OR Thursday 13th August at 7pm in the St Agatha's school hall

Retreat Day: 

Thursday 20th August at St Agatha's school hall 8:30am - 2:45pm

Ceremony: 

Sunday 30th August at 2pm at St Agatha's Church
