Dear Families,

Welcome to Term 3! I hope all of our students and families enjoyed a relaxing and refreshing holiday break. It has been wonderful to see the children settling back into the school routine as we begin another term of learning together. We look forward to the many learning experiences and school events planned including excursions, swimming, book fair, Book Week and Science Week, as well as celebrations of student achievement. Let's make Term 3 a great one!

While students were enjoying an extra day at home last Monday, our staff came together for a day of professional learning and collaboration. We were fortunate to work with Anne Taylor, our Catholic Identity and Religious Education Officer, as we continued to deepen our understanding of Inquiry Planning in Religious Education and strengthen our approach to teaching and learning.

This year, we have begun implementing a whole-school approach to Inquiry, ensuring that students from Foundation to Grade 6 are exploring common themes. Last term, our Religious Education Inquiry, What a Wonderful World, focused on the Triune God strand within To Live in Christ Jesus.

This term, our Religion focus, We All Have a Story to Tell, aligns beautifully with our History Inquiry. Through this learning, students will explore the Life and Mission of Jesus, discovering how his story continues to inspire people to live with faith, compassion and service to others. We are excited to see the connections our students make as they reflect on their own stories and the role they play in our community and the wider world.

Staffing News

Mrs Sharon Evans will now be taking leave for the remainder of the year to focus on her health and wellbeing. I am sure you will  join me in wishing her all the very best as she takes this important time to recover. As shared with the families of Middle E over the break, I am delighted that Mr Matthew Madeley has been appointed as the teacher of Middle E for the remainder of the school year.

Matthew is already a familiar and valued member of our school community. Over the past 18 months, he has worked closely with staff and students in his role as an Education Support Officer, building strong relationships and gaining a thorough understanding of our students and school culture. We are very pleased to welcome him into this teaching position and are confident he will provide continuity and support for the class.

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week is a special time when people all around Australia celebrate and learn about the history, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, who are the First Nations Peoples of Australia.

During NAIDOC Week, we take time to listen to stories, learn about traditions, enjoy art, music and dance, and recognise the important contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples have made and continue to make to our communities and country.

NAIDOC stands for National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Although it began many years ago, today NAIDOC Week is a celebration for all Australians to come together in respect, understanding, and appreciation.

The staff and students celebrated NAIDOC Week on Friday with a range of buddy activities. Some beautiful art was created and will be on display in the admin area for visitors to see. Check out our Instagram or Facebook page for a report from our FIRE Carriers.

Enrolments 2027 - Limited spaces available

If your child is due to start school next year and you have not yet submitted an enrolment form, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible. Enrolments for our Foundation 2027 class will close on Friday 24 July.

If you have already attended an enrolment interview but have not yet returned your enrolment agreement, please send it back at your earliest convenience to secure your child's place.

If you have any questions about the enrolment process, please don't hesitate to contact the school office.

NCCD - Nationally Consistent Collection of Data

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) takes place every year. The NCCD is a collection that counts:

• the number of school students receiving an adjustment or help due to disability
• the level of adjustment they are receiving to access education on the same basis as other students.

We are currently auditing our data to ensure that we have our list and evidence ready for the August census.
