Principal Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a return to Term 3 with a bang! Swimming week for Prep to Grade 2 students happened in Week 1, followed by Grades 3, 4 and 56 students in Week 2. Swimming is always a tricky spell for everyone involved due to the change of routines, and the daily hopping on/off of buses, as well as all of the child-safe and daily medicines we need to manage.

I would like to share how proud I am of the students and their ability to cope over the last 2 weeks. There has been minimal fuss, stress, or issues with behaviour here at school, and on the daily trips to the pool.

Thank you to Ms Twentyman for organising the pool and the timetabling, as well as the teachers, support staff, office team, and volunteers who have helped make the weeks run smoothly.

I would also like to thank the staff who worked on Thursday 23rd July while the members of the AEU participated in the Stopwork Action. The intended impact was to distrupt schools and childrens learning so that the Government takes notice and listens to the AEU and their members. Although we had 15 members of staff participate with the Stopwork ban (with our full support), those not in the AEU remained at school and ensured that the learning and swimming program continued.

I would also like to shout out to the team of replacement teachers who attended school in place of those not working. There were 370 out of the 420 students at school attending offering minimal disruption to parents and carers. Let's hope there are no more interruptions, and a satisfactory conclusion for all involved can be found.

I would like to congratulate the 5/6 girls' netball team, who were crowned Yarra Division Netball Champions. Well done Evie, Bobbie, Matilda, Macy, Chloe, Ella, Addi, Annalise, Lula and Yasmine. The team now progresses to the regional rounds.

Thanks,

Craig
