Dear Parents,

The mornings have definitely been cold this week. It has been a timely reminder to ensure children come to school with their school jumpers and jackets. Please ensure that all items of clothing and belongings have your child’s name on them.

Congratulations to our Choral Festival children who attended Bathurst West PS on Monday for their cluster rehearsal. The Choral Festival children, along with Mrs Cafe and Mrs Datt, will travel to the Opera House to perform on Friday, 7th August.

COMMUNITY HEROES DRESS UP DAY

A reminder that our SRC Community Heroes Dress Up Day will be held tomorrow Friday, 26th June. Students are encouraged to dress up as a community hero they admire, such as emergency service personnel, doctors, nurses, veterinarians, postal workers, sports coaches, crossing supervisors, retail workers, tradespeople, teachers, security staff and many more. Students are reminded to wear enclosed shoes, warm clothing and a school hat on the day. As part of the celebration, students are also encouraged to create a poster, card or letter to thank a community hero of their choice and bring it to school.

We look forward to seeing the many different community heroes represented across our school and celebrating the people who make a positive difference in our lives every day.

SCHOOL CONCERT

The excitement is building as rehearsals commence for our annual School Concert. Our School Concert will be held in Week 3 of Term 3 – Thursday 6th August. There will be a matinee performance commencing at 11am and an evening performance at 6.30pm. Both performances will be held at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre. More information about the Concert will be sent home early next term. Some important information for parents before the school holidays;

  • A costume levy of $15 per student to cover the costs of costuming, props and other material required for children to perform at the School Concert will be sent home through the Sentral Parent Portal tomorrow. We ask parents to pay this levy as soon as possible so that materials and costumes can be purchased over the school holidays.
  • Tickets for the matinee and evening performances will go on sale through the BMEC Box Office on Monday 20th July at 10am. Please mark this date on your calendar. More information about tickets will be available next week.

Spotlight on Attendance

As winter settles in, cold, wet weather has brought an increase in seasonal illnesses. If your child is unwell, please notify us of their absence through the parent portal. For absences of three days or more, a medical certificate is required. Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy.
