Principal’s News

Nicholas Boyhan

What a wonderful week it has been at St Joseph’s!

Production 2025 - Madagascar Jnr

On Tuesday and Wednesday, our talented students shone on stage in Madagascar Jnr. The energy, commitment, and teamwork displayed were simply outstanding. A huge congratulations to our students for their confidence and creativity, and heartfelt thanks to the staff and families who supported them throughout rehearsals and performances. It was truly a community effort and a celebration of the arts.

Father's Day Celebration

To end the week, we gathered on Friday afternoon for our Father’s Day celebration. It was a joy to see so many dads, grandfathers, and special friends join us for this occasion. The smiles, laughter, and sense of connection reminded us of the important role families play in the life of our school.

We are so blessed to share these moments together.

Great Saints of Italy Jubilee Pilgrimage

Next week I will have the great privilege of travelling to Italy with my principal colleagues from the Outer Eastern Zone as part of The Great Saints of Italy Jubilee Pilgrimage. This special journey is being organised in recognition of the Church’s Jubilee Year, a time of pilgrimage, renewal, hope and gratitude.

Throughout the pilgrimage, we will visit significant places connected with some of the Church’s great saints — women and men whose lives of faith, courage and service continue to inspire us today. Sites such as Assisi, Rome, and Siena remind us of the depth of our Catholic tradition and the timeless witness of people like Saints Peter and Paul, St Francis, St Clare, St Catherine of Siena and many others.

For me, this will be an opportunity not only for spiritual renewal but also for reflection on my role as principal and leader of our community. I look forward to returning with fresh inspiration, new insights, and a renewed sense of hope that will flow into the life of our school.

School Leadership from Monday 8 September to Friday 11 October

While I am away, our leadership team will ensure that everything continues smoothly, and I am grateful for their support and dedication. Katie Vranken will be in the role of Acting Principal, will be acting with full authority and is being remunerated accordingly.  Please address any issues you would normally discuss with me to Katie.  Simone Traynor will be in the role of Acting Deputy Principal, supporting Katie in her leadership.

My Melbourne mobile will not be connected throughout this time and my email account will not be monitored. Please address all emails to Katie principal@sjyarrajunction.catholic.edu.au  You can contact Katie on the school number 59671183 and in emergencies on 0409433191 (emergency use only between 08 September and 11 October)

Please keep me and my fellow principals in your prayers, as I will be holding our school community in mine while on this journey.

I will return from Europe on Saturday 11 October and will be back at work on Monday 13 October. If you notice me nodding off due to jet lag, feel free to give me a little nudge.

Three Scolarships are available to cover the cost of this camp.  Call Gary Parsons on 0447309832 if you are interested in your child attending.  For more information, scan the QR Code.

Kind regards,

Nick.
