TERM 2, Week 4
This week in Math, the students have been exploring addition and subtraction. We have been learning that when we add, numbers get larger, and when we subtract, numbers get smaller. The students have been using lots of concrete materials and hands-on activities to help build their understanding and confidence with these concepts. 🔢✨
In Literacy, we have continued working on our CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. The students have been practising sounding out and blending words to strengthen their reading and spelling skills. 📚
During Writing, our focus has been on correct letter formation and placement. We have been learning that some letters sit on the line, some go below the line, and some go above the line. It has been wonderful to see the students taking great care and pride in their handwriting! ✏️🌟
This week, the students had an exciting learning adventure exploring the water cycle with the help of Phil the Bucket! Through fun and interactive activities, the students acted out the different stages of the water cycle and discovered how water moves around our world. They were introduced to some impressive scientific vocabulary, including precipitation, condensation, and evaporation. It was wonderful to see the students so engaged and enthusiastic as they deepened their understanding of this important science topic. Hopefully your child brought home the Phil the Bucket key chain which has a like.
