Year 9/10 Camp

Year 9/10 Camp
Our Year 9 and 10 students recently enjoyed three-day Melbourne CBD Camp, packed with exciting experiences that combined sport, culture, adventure and teamwork. The camp provided students with the opportunity to step outside the classroom, explore Australia's sporting capital and build lasting memories with their peers.
One of the highlights was a behind-the-scenes tour of the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), where students walked through the players' change rooms, stood on the famous boundary line and discovered the rich sporting history that makes the MCG one of the world's most celebrated stadiums.
Students also embraced new challenges during an action-packed session of ice skating and curling, where plenty of laughs accompanied some impressive teamwork and determination on the ice. Adventure continued with indoor rock climbing, as students encouraged one another to conquer new heights and build confidence through persistence.
Sport enthusiasts were treated to an exclusive visit to the Collingwood Football Club, where they participated in a sporting program before touring the club's elite training facilities. The experience offered valuable insights into high-performance sport, teamwork and the dedication required to compete at the highest level.
The camp wasn't just about sport. Students explored Melbourne's vibrant creative scene with a fascinating guided graffiti street art tour through the city's famous laneways, learning about the stories, culture and history behind the colourful artworks that have become a defining feature of Melbourne.
The performing arts also took centre stage with an afternoon play at the Arts Centre Melbourne, where students experienced live theatre and gained an appreciation for the power of performance and storytelling.
To round out the adventure, students relaxed with a trip to the movies and enjoyed some friendly competition during an evening of ten-pin bowling, creating plenty of memorable moments together.
A huge thank you to our dedicated staff for giving up their time to make the camp such a rewarding experience, and to our students for embracing every opportunity with enthusiasm.
We look forward to seeing how these experiences continue to inspire our students both inside and outside the classroom.
