Principal Update
Hello everyone,
That’s a wrap for Term 3. It has been a great term with lots of learning, activities and plenty happening across the school.
Last week, our Year 3, 4 and 5 students headed out for the Waterways excursion. It was a great day and gave students the chance to learn about our local waterways from people working in the area. Our Year 5 students also worked alongside Connecting Country and shared some of their knowledge about local frogs. Thank you to Hadley for supporting our students and being part of the day.
Speaking of Hadley, she has sadly resigned from her role as our Gardening Teacher and finished up on Tuesday. We are very grateful for everything Hadley has brought to the school and wish her all the best.
We are also really pleased to welcome Eve back to Taradale as our Gardening Teacher. Eve is looking forward to returning — Taradale can be a hard place to stay away from.
Our 2/3 and F/1 classes have also had the chance to share their learning with families. The 2/3 students held their Geo Explorers Exhibition, and the F/1 students had their Welcome Back to Earth Party today, sharing their writing, learning and knowledge from their intergalactic voyage.
We have also had Bron from Dhelkaya Health working with students across the school on Making Friends with Worry. We will have a parent information session with Bron next term. Bron is fabulous and it is definitely worth coming along if you can. The date will be confirmed and shared through Upcoming Dates and Compass.
It also wouldn’t be a week at Taradale without some kind of whole-school game. These games often start spontaneously during buddy sessions with the F/1 and 5/6 classes and somehow end up involving half the school. The latest one still doesn’t appear to have a name, but it was a lot of fun and required some very quick reflexes and fairly accurate aim.
Lunch Clubs
Lunch clubs continue to be a really good option for students who would like something different to do at lunchtime. Lego Club runs on Monday and Woodwork Club on Friday lunchtimes.
Last Friday, the P/1/2 students had the chance to use the space on their own, and we built and decorated fairy houses. The lego builders created houses for the 2/3 classes leaf insects.
We also have a pop-up club that Emma has asked me to share with the broader community — the Sky Appreciation Club. Founding members: Emma, Ella, Cooper, Allie and Matilda.
Emma has been a little elusive on the finer details of what they actually do, whether it is an ongoing club, or how often it might appear. The details are still a little up in the air, but we are very excited about this latest lunchtime offering for students — if it happens to drift our way again.

Free Foodbank Packs
We also have some food packages from food bank that are available for free in the Taradale produce cart. Please feel free to take one.
Breakfast Club Volunteers
We are seeking additional volunteers to help run Breakfast Club each morning from 8:30–9:00am.
Taradale Primary School participates in the Foodbank Victoria Breakfast Club program, which provides food at no cost for students. While all students are welcome, we rely on volunteers to make this possible.
If you are able to assist or would like more information, please contact the office.
OSHC (Out of School Hours Care)
OSHC is available after school each day.
