Term Overview

Fathers Day Stall
There was plenty of excitement at our Father’s Day Stall, with students taking great care to find just the right gift for the dads and special people in their lives. A big thank you to our Parents and Friends volunteers who put so much work into making the stall happen. Your time and effort behind the scenes, as well as across both days of the stall, is greatly appreciated. We hope all of our Greenwith dads, grandads and special people enjoyed their carefully chosen gifts and had a fantastic Father’s Day!
Book Week
Our school was filled with an amazing variety of characters, creative costumes and lots of excitement as we celebrated Book Week. It was great to see our students smiling, proudly showing off their costumes and sharing in the excitement of the day. A big thank you to our wonderful staff who always get involved in the Book Week fun, dressing up alongside our students and helping make the day so special. A special thank you also to the staff who prepared and performed at our assembly!
Year 3/4 Wax Museum
History came to life as our students transformed into influential figures for our Wax Museum!
Families were treated to creative costumes, impressive displays and fascinating presentations as students shared what they had learned while staying in character. We are so proud of the creativity, research and confidence shown by every student. What a fantastic showcase of their learning!
Parliament House & Adelaide Oval Excursion
What a fantastic day out for our Class 1405 students! Our Year 5/6 students swapped the classroom for the city, visiting two iconic Adelaide locations, Parliament House and Adelaide Oval. At Parliament House, students had the opportunity to explore where important decisions are made and see democracy in action. Then it was off to Adelaide Oval, where students explored one of South Australia’s most famous landmarks and soaked up the atmosphere.
The Emperor’s Egg -309
Class 309 enjoyed reading The Emperor’s Egg and followed it up with a very fitting activity, the Egg Drop Challenge! Students worked together to create ways to protect their egg before putting their creations to the test with the big drop! There was plenty of excitement, teamwork and laughter as everyone waited to see which eggs would survive. A fun way for Class 309 to bring a great story to life!
Bike Ed
Our students have been having a fantastic time taking part in Bike Ed, building their confidence, skills and knowledge on two wheels! Throughout the sessions, students have been learning about bike safety, road awareness, balance, control and responsible riding, all while staying active and having plenty of fun.
Choir
What a day for our choir! A few snaps from their big day at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre for the Festival of Music. From the smiles on their faces, it’s safe to say they had an absolute ball! They were a brilliant group and represented Greenwith beautifully.
A pretty special experience, and one we’re sure they’ll remember!
Brainstorm Production
Our students were treated to a live performance of The Protectors by Brainstorm Productions. It was a fun and engaging way to explore friendships, kindness, respect and staying safe online, while encouraging students to think about how their choices and actions impact others. A great experience for our students and lots of important messages along the way!
Flavour Lab Showcase
Students in Classrooms 404 and 405 proudly welcomed families to their Flavour Lab Showcase! Students loved sharing their food creations and showing off what they had learned about food, culture, design and healthy eating. A big thank you to all the families who came along and supported our students. It was wonderful to see our students so proud of their creations and learning.
Herman and Rosie- Incursion
All students were treated to a wonderful live performance of Herman and Rosie, presented by musicians from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra! Bringing together live jazz, storytelling and some incredible instruments, the performance was a fantastic way for students to experience music and literature coming to life.
Science Week
Last week was Science Week, and Ms S and our students were buzzing with excitement! This year’s theme was “Seeds,” giving us the perfect opportunity to explore the vital role seeds play in our environment and their importance in supporting local biodiversity
Ms S was also delighted to introduce our partnership with Green Adelaide through the SEEDS program, which helps protect and promote local native plants. To celebrate the theme, each student investigated native flowering seeds, planted their own, and took their potted plants home to nurture their very own native gardens.
The much-anticipated Science Week competition was launched, and many students are already keen to invent or research a tree, considering how its seeds are dispersed, its special adaptations, and its interactions within the environment.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make Science Week such a wonderful success
