From the Leadership Team

Dear GPS Community,

As this busy term draws to a close, I want to take a moment to wish all of our students and families a restful and enjoyable break over the coming two weeks.

I'd also like to pause and recognise the many volunteers who have given their time so generously to our school this term. Whether it's been helping out at excursions, assisting in the canteen, running our mother’s and Father's Day stalls, serving on P&F or giving up your evenings for Governing Council meetings, your contribution has not gone unnoticed. So much of what makes Greenwith Primary School special simply wouldn't happen without volunteers like you giving up your time. Thank you for everything you do.

I'd also like to thank our wonderful staff. Behind the progress our students have made this term has been a team of teachers and support staff working hard to build strong, positive learning environments where every child can grow. Their commitment to quality teaching, and to the wellbeing and progress of every student, does not go unnoticed, and it is very much appreciated by our whole community. To our staff, thank you for your hard work and dedication this term. You've earned a proper break, and I hope you get the chance to enjoy it before we start up again next term.

To our families, enjoy the time together, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the term ahead.

Kind Regards

Darren

Attendance

In South Australia, all school children up to the age of 16 are required by law to attend school regularly. Everyday your child attends school counts, as regular attendance and being on time everyday helps students to:

  • develop a sense of belonging
  • develop and maintain friendships
  • be more engaged at school
  • progress with their learning
  • experience success at school

It is important that students develop habits of regular attendance at any early age, beginning from the time they are enrolled.

If your child is absent, please notify the school or class teacher of the reason for the absence through the Sentral app, email, or a phone call.
