Butterfly Adventures!

This term, our Year 1 and 2 Community are learning about living things. They are learning that living things have needs to survive. Some of the key concepts they will cover about living things include:

• Life cycles

• Features

• Habitats

• Impact of the environment

The students have been very excited about some special ‘visitors’ that have joined their community. Each class has received three chrysalis and a mesh cube. This is to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly.  We are hoping the chrysalis will hatch within the next week or so. 

Dingo Descriptive Paragraphs

The Year 1 and 2 students were reading the picture book Dingo, by Clare Saxby, in class. This book is a narrative non-fiction that tells a story about a dingo, while also including facts about dingos on each page. 

As part of this learning, students wrote descriptive paragraphs about dingos. Check out some of their work below.
