Grandparents & Special Friends morning
On Tuesday, it was lovely to welcome grandparents and friends into our school community. Many stopped to admire the bird artworks created by last year’s Prep students in Visual Art, which were displayed in Prep classrooms.
These artworks, inspired by stories of Bunjil the Eagle, Kookoo Kookaburra, Cunning Crow, Awesome Emu, and Mad Magpie, were a wonderful conversation starter and a reminder of the learning students shared last year about storytelling, art and connection to place.
Each artwork includes the bird’s name in Woiwurrung language. How many can you recognise? Answers to be revealed in the next newsletter!
