The Issue Highlights
Dear Families,
Winter Fete
Thank you to all of the parents, carers, family members and friends who were able to join us last Friday at our Winter Fete. Despite the very chilly day we had over 120 adults attend, many with children in tow. Due to your support we raised over $3,227.00! Thank you for your contribution as always. School Council will decide how the money will be allocated. Our students displayed many of our employability skills in preparing for and running their stalls. A new and popular addition was the 'Chicken Poop Raffle'. Thank you to Helena McAloon (Leading Teacher) for your coordination of our Winter Fete and thank you to all the staff and students who made it such a wonderful day.
Thank you to again to Rod Tobin (School Council President) and Wynstan Blinds for your generous donation of a $500 voucher for our raffle. The winner of this prize was - you guessed it - me!! I look forward to some much needed new blinds in my apartment.
Attendance Matters
We know that regular attendance can sometimes be challenging, especially when students have complex needs or medical appointments. However, we want to highlight that every day counts. When students attend school regularly, they build routines, relationships, and skills that support their learning and growth. If your child is absent for any reason, please continue to notify us, and remember, we’re here to work with you to support attendance in any way we can.
If your child is going to be away from school, we’d really appreciate it if you could let us know as soon as possible.
It’s super easy:
When you get in touch, please include your child’s name, class, and the reason for their absence. It helps us keep track and ensures everyone is safe and where they should be.
Staff Planning Days – Term 3 Preparation
Next week, we will be holding PLT planning days where all the grades from each cohort will meet on a given day. This gives our team valuable time to plan units of work, review student learning goals, collaborate and prepare for Term 3.
Car Park Safety and Reminders
As you know we’ve had a few recent concerns regarding the school car park, and we have had consultants out to look at the flow and management of this area.
We’re asking all families to please help us keep this space safe:
We are currently working with the local council and the Department of Education on longer-term improvements to access and traffic flow, and to ensure student safety.
We will keep you updated.
I’d like to remind all families about SchoolTV, which is an important resource available to support the wellbeing of our students and families.
SchoolTV provides a wealth of expert information, guidance, and practical strategies on a wide range of topics relevant to today’s parenting challenges—from managing screen time and cyber safety to dealing with anxiety, resilience, and mental health.
