Principal's Report 

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Hats

A big thank you to our families for purchasing school hats from the administration office over the past week. The hats look fantastic and it is really positive to see the vast majority of our students following the SunSmart expectations of the school.

School Security

Over the past few weeks I am saddened to say that we have experienced some vandalism across our school site. To protect our beautiful school setting, and maintain the standard of our school grounds, we are increasing our security across the school. Gates to the Medwell Oval will now be locked at both the North and South end. We hope that this is a temporary measure and community access will be available in the near future. I apologise for the inconvenience that may be experienced and thank our community in advance for your understanding.

Student-led Conferences

Both teachers and students are working hard to assess and evaluate Term Three learning progress of our students F-6. All families will receive the Student Interim Report via email next Tuesday and we look forward to welcoming families to our Student-led Conferences on Wednesday September 13. Our students play a vital role of responsibility in engaging with their family and teacher to share and celebrate the progress of their learning.

Parent Opinion Survey

Your opinion truly does matter to us! Thank you to the families who have already taken the time to complete the Parent & Guardian Opinion Survey. The survey closes this Friday and we look forward to receiving the results. The feedback received provides us with some clear avenues for improvement and also affirms for us what we are doing well as a school. If you haven't already, please access the survey with the link that was sent via email at the beginning of August. If  you are unable to locate this information, please email the school and we can resend this link to you.

School Council Open Meeting

On Monday September 11th, Miners Rest Primary School School Council are hosting an open meeting, inviting any of our community members to attend. Come along and meet our school councillors and Martha Haylett, our local member for the district of Ripon.

Foundation Excursion

We wish our Foundation children a wonderful day next Tuesday as they take a bus ride to Werribee Open Range Zoo. Lots of learning has been happening in the classrooms in preparation for this amazing experience next week. We wish them good weather and lots of opportunities to confirm their learning amongst the animals and environments.

Assembly

We look forward to seeing you at our final formal assembly this Friday from 2:45pm. Next week's assembly will be Friday morning to support the Footy Colours Day and Parade.
