From the Deputy Principal

As I looked over the staffing list for our Athletics Carnival, I noticed the following two very important roles had been allocated to some of our staff: 'Masters of Organisation' and 'Masters of Culture'. I think this is a really great way of capturing what it takes to create an amazing experience for the whole school during an event which celebrates connection and joy. It takes a whole lot of organisation from so many people: our Health and PE and Sports team, the Heads of House, classroom and homeroom teachers rallying our students, our Facilities and Cleaning Team, our Catering Team, our teachers, Education Assistants, support staff and, most of all, our students.

And being 'Masters of Culture' takes all of us: students, families, staff and the community to create and celebrate culture together. It's in the war cries students so passionately joined in with. We can see it in grimaces of effort on the track, amazing costumes and SO much zinc and glitter! We see it in the staff encouraging and even running with students to encourage them (someone should ask Dr Mitrovski how many 1500 metre races he has run!) and parents dressing up to support the 'best' House.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to being 'Masters of Organisation' and 'Masters of Culture' for making our Whole School Athletics Carnival such a success.

Farewell, Year Twelves!

Every year it is hard to believe our Year Twelves are reaching the end of their time here at GSG. We hope they all know how much they will be missed and that they know they are welcome here at GSG at any time. For those students who have already started their journey beyond GSG in work, further training or adventures, our very best wishes go with you. For those students who have yet to complete ATAR exams, we wish you all the best and look forward to cheering you on, right to the finish line.

Mrs Emma Franklin | Deputy Principal - Head of Teaching and Learning
