Year 4 News

On Friday 16 October, Year 4 were very lucky to be visited by a representative from the Victorian Racing Club, two-time Melbourne Cup winning jockey Corey Brown and the actual 2026 Lexus Melbourne Cup. Corey has ridden in the Melbourne Cup 13 times and won the race twice - in 2009 and 2017. Did you know that the horses get up to 65-70 kilometres per hour when racing down the final straight? He told us about his love of horses and racing from a young age and how important it is to pursue your dreams. He encouraged the students to be dedicated to their goals and not give up when things get tough.
