Year 8 students attend the Rural Australian Careers in Agriculture(RACE) Road Show

On Tuesday 8th September, a group of 14 year 8 students took up the opportunity to participate in a half day activity that allowed them to experience some of the diverse STEM related career pathways found in Rural Australia. The students made the most of the opportunity and were exposed to the use of drones and precision agriculture.

Held at St Brigid's College, this event was delivered by staff from CQUniversity. We would like to thank the team of people who travelled so far to provide our students with such engaging activities. We are also grateful to Horsham's Local Learning Employment Network (LLEN) for arranging this event and making it possible for our students to participate without cost to families.

The Year 8 team would like to give all students a warm welcome back. We are looking forward to a positive and productive last term of 2026.

Here are some reminders:

  • Hats are back! These must be worn at recess and lunch, or students will be prompted to sit in the shade by a teacher. We also encourage students to slip, slap, slop in general! Very important when in our lovely Wimmera son.

  • We are continuing on with assessments, and encourage parents/guardians to reach out to teachers if they know their child will be absent. We will do what we can to accommodate.

  • Good luck to those participating in summer sports!

  • Our Year 12s are hard at work revising for their final exams. The Year 8 team is very grateful to the students who have been doing their best to create a positive school environment that supports their learning.

  • Free English and Maths help is available after school. Maths is on Monday and English Thursday. Our teachers love teaching, so come along if you need any extra help catching up or preparing for assessments.
