First week back to school is always an exciting time for students in the Art room as they get to discover what their new focus and projects will be for this term. But before we move on to new projects, I wanted to highlight a student who shared her artwork with me on the last day of Term 2. 

All Art teachers are overjoyed when their students are enjoying what they do in the Art Room so much that they are motivated to learn and develop their skills at home. Inspired by our Pete Cromer sewing project, Niamh from 6T sewed her own meerkat soft toy. Niamh purchased the materials herself, sewed the edges of felt using the overcast stitch she learned in Art and studied Pete Cromers work to make her meerkat softie. She even told me that she is planning on making more as she enjoyed the process, and the result, so much. Fantastic work Niamh, I look forward to seeing more of your work!
