As we approach the end of the year, it's amazing to reflect on how quickly the time has flown! This year has been filled with growth, achievement, and moments to celebrate. Let’s take a moment to recognise and applaud the personal and academic progress of every student, each achievement, big or small, deserves to be celebrated.
Our Year 6 students are ready to begin their exciting secondary school journey, having been nurtured at POPS with skills, confidence, and a solid foundation for the future. Last night, we celebrated their primary school achievements at the Year 6 Graduation Ceremony, a memorable evening for students and families. The Honourable Mr Sukkar, Member for Deakin, presented the Citizenship Award to Matilda H., alongside other awards including:
To learn more about these awards and read the award descriptions, please visit the Year 6 Graduation Awards page.
We were inspired by 2013 POPS graduate Cooper S., who shared his journey from POPS to secondary school. The evening's highlight was the heartfelt speeches from our School Captains, Jeyda A. and Joshua S., and Vice Captains, Imaan N. and Thomas B. To read their speeches go to the School Captain and Vice Captain pages.
After the formalities, the students celebrated with a dinner, a lively disco, and plenty of fun in the photo booth—creating memories to last a lifetime!
On Friday, December 20, we’ll officially say goodbye to the graduating Year 6 class. The farewell assembly will begin at 12:30 pm in the gym, followed by a guard of honour as the Year 6 students leave POPS.
Foundation to Year 5 students will then return to their classrooms to collect their bags and will be dismissed at 1:30 pm. For families needing care after this time, TheirCare will be available, please book through the TheirCare .
We wish all our Year 6 students the very best as they embark on this exciting new chapter. Congratulations to the Class of 2024!
We are thrilled to share the structure and our staff team for 2025.

Wishing each of you a joyful Christmas and a safe, happy New Year. We eagerly anticipate an exciting year ahead.
Nanak S: Congratulations to Nanak for being selected to represent the BHRDCA U12 team in the Keith Mitchell Shield! Despite being unable to play cricket due to a hand injury, Nanak has shown remarkable resilience. During his recovery, he dedicated time to studying the technical and mental aspects of cricket, watching professional matches, and reflecting on strategies to enhance his game. We look forward to seeing him back on the field stronger than ever!
Have a happy and safe festive season,
Ms Garrity
